IT skills gap hard to fill

IT staff lack key skills, according to research by training group E-skills.

More than half of employers said that their IT staff required additional training. E- skills also warned of a gap between what is taught at school and the skills that employers require.

The only ray of hope is that more than 135,000 people took an IT- related GCSE in 2001, compared to a big rise of 100,000.
