Drummond Hall, chief executive of one of Britain's biggest companies is stepping down from his £677,000 a year job because he wants to spend more time with his 14-month-old daughter.

The 56 year old Hall, boss of food giant Dairy Crest, said that he wanted to watch his daughter grow up.

"There is nothing untoward about this, but I have just decided to have a change of direction. It's not a decision I have taken lightly," he said.
