In search of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs

The CBI/Real Business Growing Business Awards 2005 have been launched to find the UK's most successful entrepreneurs.

Established in 1999, the awards are free to enter and open to any business that is independently owned, employs fewer than 500 people and is based in the UK.

There are 10 Awards to be won including Entrepreneur of the Year and Company of the Year.

Last year's Company of the Year was by Betfair and the Entrepreneur of the Year award was won by Simon Nixon of Moneysupermarket.com.

Other awards include Young Company of the Year (won by Tyrrells Potato Chips) and Innovative Company of the Year picked up by the hotdog retailer Rollover. Philip Green was named Entrepreneurs' Entrepreneur of the Year, following the footsteps of Richard Branson took the award home in 2003.
