More graduates attracted to teaching

As these a new campaign is launched in the UK to attract graduates into the teaching profession, new figures reveal that the number of graduates that have accepted places on Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses has increased by almost 3000 since last year.

'Golden hello' payments of up to £4,000 have seen a particularly dramatic rise in the number of trainee maths teachers, where the number of trainees has risen by some 35 per cent since last year. Big increases were also recorded for IT and science teachers.
