Too much tea damages UK productivity

They might work among the longest hours in Europe, but Britons spend so much of the day wasting time that they are also among the least productive.

If a new survey is to be believed, the average British worker wastes almost a quarter of their day surfing the web, emailing friends, chatting and planning holidays.

But according to printer company Lexmark, the biggest single timewaster – more so than even the internet - is making endless cups of tea.

The UK now has the lowest productivity rating in Europe at 78 per cent, while Germany is the most productive with a rating of 89 per cent, Lexmark said.
